Newport Gold Inc. (OTC/BB: NWPG) is a newly incorporated Nevada company (incorporated July 16, 2003) formed for the purpose of mining exploration.

The board of directors is made up of highly experienced individuals with over 150 years of experience in the geologic, legal and accounting fields and a track record of many discoveries to their credit.

The company will focus on precious metal projects and to this end has optioned the Burnt Basin property in southern British Columbia as it’s first project.

Although there are high grade zones of lead, zinc and silver on parts of the property, the company’s focus and target will be a stratigraphic jasper (iron stained silica) horizon which is estimated to be in excess of 2000 feet long. Part of this zone was mined in the early 1900’s and 316 tons that were shipped to the smelter averaged 1.05 oz/ton gold.

Many samples taken at different times on the property have yielded high grade gold values. One of the samples taken by our geologist Linda Caron assayed 3.2 oz/ton gold.

This jasper horizon has never been explored and only two very minor drill programs were ever carried out. The locations of the holes and the results are unknown.

Discussions are underway with two groups who control significant precious metal projects, with the objective of obtaining favorable option terms.
